Amazing Grace ~ John Newton 1779

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Just so timelessly beautiful. I recently saw the new movie by the same title and it was quite moving. I would recommend it.

I pray that you all have a wonderful New Year's Day.

Christmas Details & Good News

We had a wonderfully simple and beautiful Christmas. Our days were filled with good food and loving family.

My favorite vintage tablecloth. The stitching is so beautiful and perfect. I cannot even imagine the time and love spent by the woman who made this. It looks Scandinavian in style, which I love.

My most loved Christmas gift. My husband and children gave this to me. I have been wanting a nativity for so long. I love it's simplicity. It reminds me of the Ostheimer wooden toys. My children can love on this without the worry of breaking it. Love that.

My husband lovingly made this for our children. I don't know exactly what to call it.....A child's imagination is so vast. So far it has been a castle, a treehouse, a space port........Endless possibilities. I would love to make pieces of little wooden furniture like these.

Our sweet little tree on Christmas morning. Bedazzled with all the new christmas creations made by my chidren.

I have wonderful news.

My dear husband accepted a job yesterday. Praise the Lord. He will start on January 2nd. I praise our God for providing and sustaining us during the last month and always.

Thank you all for prayers said on our behalf. We are so *eternally* grateful.

Have a wonderful weekend and a Happy New Year. In God's Love, Tami

"Breath of Heaven" ~by Amy Grant

I have traveled many moonless nights,
Cold and weary with a babe inside,
And I wonder what I've done.
Holy father you have come,
And chosen me now to carry Your son.
I am waiting in a silent prayer.
I am frightened by the load I bear.
In a world as cold as stone,
Must I walk this path alone?
Be with me now. Be with me now.

Breath of heaven, Hold me together,
Be forever near me, Breath of heaven.
Breath of heaven, Lighten my darkness,
Pour over me your holiness,
For You are holy. Breath of heaven.

Do you wonder as you watch my face,
If a wiser one should have had my place,
But I offer all I am
For the mercy of Your plan.
Help me be strong.
Help me be. Help me.

Breath of heaven, Hold me together,
Be forever near me, Breath of heaven.
Breath of heaven, Lighten my darkness,
Pour over me your holiness,
For You are holy. Breath of Heaven.

Just popping in to say Hi :-)

The month of December is whizzing by and I thought I'd pop in to say hi........(hey that rhymes)

We are very busy around our home preparing for many large family gatherings.

I will be back after Christmas with our daily happenings and lots of photos.

Thank you all who have been praying for our family.

We are still praying for the right job to come along, and my dear husband has renewed confidence that the right job is on the horizon.

I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy your families and God Bless you all.

Little Corners

There are certain little corners of my home that I just love.
It could be the time we spend there or the things
that are housed there,
that make that corner so special.
Here are a few of my favorite corners:

Our little Christmas tree sitting atop my grandfather's library table. You cannot see the table, but it is beautiful. The table is oak, made in the Arts & Crafts style by my Grandpa Art in the 1930's. A cherished family heirloom.

Our cozy reading corner in the little boys attic bedroom. This tiny little space is just big enough for me to sit with little ones and read. My hope is that as our younger ones begin reading, they will escape to this little corner for a bit of quiet.

This is command central. Behind the louvered door is my tiny pantry. Here is where all the paper goes. Each person has a "file", where their papers go. I also rotate artwork and photos here. I like this corner because there is so much life here. It shows the true heart of our home. We are a family, and our home is truly a family home, every inch purposed for our lives.

I hope and pray that you all had a warm and cozy day.
Have a restful night.

With Thanks...

I just wanted to thank everybody who said a prayer on our behalf this week.
No progress yet in the job search, but my dear husband is working hard to find a job right for our family.
We are busy with Christmas preparations and enjoying the extra time together.
To keep spirits high, I have flooded the house with Christmas music this week. The power of praise and worship is amazing.
Have a wonderful weekend with your loves. Stay warm and cozy and be ever thankful.

Prayers Appreciated...

As a general rule, I like to keep my blog entries as upbeat as possible. Finding that bright spot in my day and focusing on it, puts my life into perspective.

Well yesterday was one of those days with no bright spot.

Very suddenly my dear husband was laid off from his job. This is the second time this year. He is in the technology field and many companies are struggling.
My husband is a rock and this has really shaken him. He is such a good provider and takes his responsibility very seriously. What a wonderful man he is.
I would just like to ask that if our family comes to mind, that you would just say a little prayer. We are resting in God's hands and waiting to see His plan.
Thank you so much, I truly appreciate all of you.
In God's Love, Tami

P.S. WE GOT SNOW! It was only a little, but as you can see my kiddos were thrilled!
