If you get a chance check out Aimee's blog and to read the post she did on "Precycling". Somehow just recycling doesn't do it for me. I want to avoid buying the packaging and unnecessary items in the first place.
I love the idea of precycling because it *prevents* certain items from coming in to my home. Even if the plastic packaging might be recyclable, it does take energy and it does impact the environment to recycle the plastic. It really makes me stop and analyze needs vs. wants.
The joy is in the journey, and I am far from *arriving*. Each day I just try my best.

Thanks for sharing this link. I loved the post. We live this way too. One thing that I've noticed the the inability to purchase some small items without huge packaging due to theft prevention. This is just another way that the sinfulness of man affects much more than just the pocketbook of the store. It reverberates into our environment and our own pocketbooks as well.
