I am *so* busy this week with gift making, but I took some time out to start a little art quilt. Inspired by Amanda at Soulemama, I took a sweet drawing that my daughter did at age 3 and recreated it with embroidery. It's not completely finished yet, but you get the idea from the photo.
My sweet angel is so excited to have her art hanging in our home.
I saved her drawing in my journal for a long time just waiting for an opportunity to use it creatively.
I love the way she captured us, you can clearly see my arms wrapped around her as little baby all snugged up in a blanket. I was amazed when she gave it to me.
I got a little crazy with the mix of fabrics and trim, I think it turned out quite pleasing though.
Well back to quilting, I only have 6 more days.........
Have a blessed and wonderful day.
In God's Love, Tami
It's beautiful Tami. I love the colours and trims you have used.
ReplyDeleteOhmygoodnesssakes that's one of the sweetest things I've ever seen! What a wonderful idea! I always save my kids' pictures in my journal, too, but would NEVER have thought of this. I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job.

Beautiful Tami! What kind of material did you use to sew her picture on?
ReplyDeleteThank you ladies for the kind comments.
ReplyDeleteCarrie- I used a piece of white cotton sheeting. It is pretty high thread count so it was nice to embroider on.
Have a blessed weekend, Tami
WOW! That is such a creative idea!
